Valdemar (Val) Amigo has a long experience severing, coaching and mentoring youth. This was a direct result from the many years of competitive football through high school, CEGEP and university where he played. It provided him with opportunity to continue his passion for football in France where he played and coached semi-professional football. He was approached and invited by the Ottawa Roughriders in 1996 free agent camp where he signed a contract but later released. Val has always valued and shared his experiences and enjoys paying it forward by being a long-time volunteer in minor sports where he volunteers in minor hockey and has coached minor football over 22 years. He held the Senior Manager of Operations position with the Foundation for the Study of Processes of Government in Canada and the Forum for Young Canadians since 1996. Born in Portugal and immigrated to Canada in late 1970 his family settled in Gatineau, Quebec. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bishop’s University and a degree in Social Sciences / Business administration from Champlain Regional College. He is fluent in English, French and Portuguese. He is a father of two boys and married to his high school sweetheart of over 35 years.
