Historica Canada is pleased to announce the class of Mr. Sylvain Prévost at École Jean-Paul II (Val Caron) has won the How We Remember Contest

SUDBURY – January 19, 2016 Historica Canada is pleased to announce the class of Mr. Sylvain Prévost at École Jean-Paul II (Val Caron) has won the How We Remember Contest which challenged students from across the country to create an art or writing piece around the theme of remembrance of either the First or Second World War.

M. Prévost’s students took first place over dozens of group submissions from across Canada with their submission, a dance commemorating Canada’s involvement in the First and Second World Wars. Judges at Historica Canada were impressed by the many different styles of movement, the costumes, song choice and originality of the students’ submission.

Mr. Prévost and his class of 30 students will visit the Art Gallery of Sudbury on January 20th from 9:30-11:15am and the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario from 12:30-2:30pm to celebrate their achievement. The students will participate in a fun glow in the dark art workshop at the Art Gallery. In the afternoon, the students will receive their winning certificates from Historica Canada at 12:30pm in the foyer of the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario and then take a behind the-scenes tour.
