Encounters with Canada

Encounters with Canada is Canada’s largest youth forum. A week-long program housed at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre in Ottawa, EWC brings together between 3,000 – 3,200 students (aged 14-17) from across Canada, every school year. Through innovative, experiential learning activities, these young Canadians discover our nation’s diverse cultures, heritage, institutions, history and leaders, explore potential career options, and developing their civic leadership skills – all while living an extraordinary bilingual experience. Since the program opened its doors in 1982, over 94,000 youth have lived the EWC experience.

"I wish I was going back to Encounters! To anyone going to upcoming weeks: it's amazing! Be prepared for the most incredible week you’ve ever had! And you will meet friends you will never ever forget - I guarantee it :)"
