William Herron's discovery of oil in Turner Valley started Alberta on the road to a major industry.

Canada’s business visionaries are passionate, single-minded individuals. Joseph Armand Bombardier, the determined founder of a small business empire, never stopped inventing, perfecting and producing all-terrain vehicles. The Bombardier spirit of initiative and responsibility continues to this day.

People love to go to the movies; the most difficult part is often deciding which movie to see at the local cineplex. But multiple-theatre movie houses are a relatively recent innovation, and the man who single-handedly changed the way we go to the movies was a Canadian, Nat Taylor. He even coined the now globally used word ‘cineplex.’

When Thomas Eadie invented microwave radio relay he changed Canadian telecommunications. His system now spans the entire continent.

These Minutes commemorate Canadian stories of initiative, vision and passion.
