McLarnin started boxing at age 12 and went on to win the world welterweight title.

Known as the “Baby-faced Assassin,” Jimmy McLarnin began boxing at the age of 10. By 19, McLarnin had $100,000 in the bank and less than a decade later he was welterweight champion of the world.

 

George Chuvalo is remembered internationally for his remarkable ability to hold his own against the world’s highest-ranked boxers, none of whom ever knocked him off his feet. Over his career, Chuvalo held the title of Canadian heavyweight champion for 18 years and won 70 of his 79 victories by knockout.

 

Donnie Lalonde's route to the ring began from tragic darkness. Repeatedly knocked unconscious as a child by his stepfather, as a teenager, the boxing ring served as Lalonde's escape. The "Golden Boy" of Canada climbed his way to the top of the boxing world by winning the light-heavyweight Canadian and world championships.
